On a beautiful Autumn morning Sat. 9th Oct 21 the Mayor of Cowbridge (Ancient Borough) with Llanblethian Town Council Cllr Siân Vaughan with her consort Mr Robert Vaughan, the Deputy Mayor Cllr John Andrew, Deputy Mayoress Anna Andrew, Cllrs Gwen Baty, Alec Trousdell, Beverly Tonkin, Mr Dave Knevett ( Vale of Glamorgan Council) and members of the community were present to officially open the new play equipment at Llanblethian. The Mayor welcomed those present on behalf of the Town Council and the Leisure and Amenities Committee and cut a red ribbon . The Mayor thanked the following for funding the project via grants, The National Lottery Community Fund £10K, the Town Council just over £5k and Welsh Government funding Play Wales grant administered by the Vale of Glamorgan Council for £3k. The following were thanked for their contributions Cllr Rhys Watkins for project managing in difficult circumstances due to Covid and tight grant deadlines , Deputy Mayor Cllr John Andrew for undertaking the on-line consultation and the former Town Clerk Ceri John for submitting the grant applications. Everyone present was then able to enjoy some light refreshments
