Remembrance Sunday 2021

Cllr Siân Vaughan Mayor of Cowbridge (Ancient Borough)  with Llanblethian Town Council was very pleased that a near ‘Normal’ Remembrance Sunday was able to take place in Cowbridge on Sunday 14th November 2021. It was a huge difference from 2020 when a very small socially distanced limited number of people where able to be outside the Town Hall and wreaths were collected in advanced and laid at organised times. The Mayor did a recorded message for the Council’s website in  2020 in which she said she hoped for a return to normal in 2021. The Council were pleased to  welcome back the return of the South Wales Police Band, Mr Campbell the bagpiper and Charlotte the bugle player. There was a fantastic turn out from members of the public and youth groups for the parade. Some groups were not allowed to parade but were able to take part by providing a guard of honour. There were limited numbers allowed in the church for the service  and the Town Hall. Things were almost back to ‘normal’ but not quite let us hope it will be in 2022.  Many thanks to the Royal British Legion Cowbridge Branch, the Town Hall staff  and all the volunteers that helped make it a memorable day. We Will Remember Them.
