Cowbridge Town Council is responsible for managing and maintaining a range of local amenities, community assets and services across Cowbridge and Llanblethian. These spaces help make our town a welcoming, safe and vibrant place to live, work and visit.
Town Council Assets
The Town Council owns and manages:
- Cowbridge Town Hall (Grade II* Listed Building)
- The Limes Cemetery
- Southgate Park
- Twt Park
- Llanblethian Playing Fields
- The Limes Shed
- Cowbridge War Memorial
- Land by the Ford, Factory Road, Llanblethian
- Emms Cottage, Llanblethian
- Village Green, Piccadilly, Llanblethian
- Holy Cross Churchyard
- Waste bins located within The Limes Cemetery, Southgate Park, Twt Park and Llanblethian Playing Fields.
Our Services
In addition to maintaining these assets, the Town Council also:
- Supports and funds community events, including the May Fayre, Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas Lights & Reindeer Parade.
- Represents local residents by championing community priorities and lobbying other authorities.
- Comments on planning applications affecting the local area.
- Maintains Town Council-owned amenities and public spaces.
- Manages bookings and hire of Cowbridge Town Hall.
- Promotes community wellbeing and biodiversity initiatives.
- Publishes financial information and ensures transparent governance.
Working with the Vale of Glamorgan Council
As the most local level of government, Cowbridge Town Council works closely with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to raise issues on behalf of residents and advocate for improvements across the town.
While the Town Council is responsible for the assets listed above, many public spaces and services—including highways, libraries, public car parks and several parks—are managed by the Vale of Glamorgan Council or other public bodies. The Town Council regularly works in partnership with the Vale to ensure local concerns are heard and addressed.

The following are maintained by the Vale of Glamorgan Council:
- Poplar Park
- Bear Fields
- Police Fields
- Cattle Market Car Park
- Town Hall Square Car Park
- Old Hall
- Cowbridge Library
- Cowbridge Physic Garden
- Roads throughout Cowbridge, Llanblethian and Aberthin
- Most public litter bins (excluding those managed by the Town Council).
