The Youth Council will bring together motivated young people from across Cowbridge and Llanblethian to discuss issues that matter to them, influence Town Council decisions, and help improve local services, spaces, and activities.
What is the Youth Council?
The Youth Council is a group of local young people aged 11–17 who meet regularly to:
- Share their views on local issues
- Work with councillors to improve the community
- Lead projects that benefit young residents
- Represent the voice of young people at Town Council meetings

No previous experience is needed, you don’t need to have in depth knowledge about the town council, or even the town—just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved and learn. Never feel you’re not good enough to attend a group like this, it’s for anyone and everyone with the passion.

Training & Requirements
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants, volunteers must have:

- An enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one—costs covered)
- Safeguarding Level B training (existing certification accepted, or training will be provided after joining)
- Undergo Background check Including References. And proof of identity. With informal interview/induction.
Meetings
Meetings will take place once a month at Cowbridge Town Hall. Additional project sessions and workshops may be arranged throughout the year.
