Dear Member of Cowbridge with Llanblethian Town Council,
You are summoned to attend the Rescheduled Annual Statutory Meeting of the Town Council, followed by the Ordinary Full Council Meeting, Tuesday 27th May and Wednesday 28th May 2025, 6.30pm, at the Cowbridge Town Hall Council Chamber or remotely by Microsoft Teams.
The Rescheduled Annual Meeting is expected to be adjourned until Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
If you are unable to attend, please inform the Town Clerk, prior to the meeting of the reason for your non-attendance.

Members of the Press and Public are welcome to attend the meeting in person or remotely. For remote joining instructions email townclerk@cowbridge-tc.gov.uk. Please note the meeting will be recorded and may be published on the Town Council website. The press and the public have no statutory right to take photographs or to use any means which would enable any person not present at a meeting to see or hear the meeting. Permission to record meetings in this way requires the specific approval of the Council.

Annual Statutory Meeting (Mayor Making Ceremony)

All other members are asked to assemble and dress in the Robing Room at 30pm and wait to be called to the Mayors Parlour.

All members are asked to proceed in order of seniority from the Mayors Parlour to the Council Chamber in procession at 28pm and take their seats.

Guests will take their seats at 25pm.

The Macebearers, followed by the late Mayor’s consorts, the Town Clerk will take their places at 30pm.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Geraint Baty will welcome all those

In the absence of the late Mayor Cllr Terry Williams will propose the Mayor Elect, Cllr Geraint Baty as Mayor for the ensuing

Cllr Lianne Evans will be called upon to second the proposal.

Cllr Terry Williams, will call upon all members present to vote on the proposal.

The Town Clerk will call upon the Mayor Elect, Cllr Geraint Baty to sign the Declaration of Acceptance of

Once the declaration has been signed, Town Clerk will say: – T/Clerk: “The Mayor will now leave the Chamber, please rise”.

The Macebearers, retiring consorts, Town Clerk, New Mayor and Consort, retire to the Mayor’s
(Those remaining in the chamber will be seated during the change of robes and the Deputy Mayor elect and Deputy Mayoress will move to the seats vacated by the Deputy Mayor and Deputy Consort).

The Retiring Consorts return to the Chamber and take the seats previously occupied by the Deputy Mayor elect and Deputy Consort elect.

The Town Clerk will knock on the door of the Parlour, then proceed to open it, and ask all individuals seated within the chamber to stand. (PLEASE RISE)

The Mayor Cllr Geraint Baty will return thanks for election and announce their choice of Consort for the ensuing year who will be entitled to wear that chain of office.

The Mayor Cllr Geraint Baty will make a presentation of a Past Mayor’s Badge to the retiring consorts.
