FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cowbridge with Llanblethian Town Council Announces Precept Increase for 2025-2026

Cowbridge with Llanblethian Town Council has announced an increase in the Precept for the 2025-2026 financial year by £5.60 per month per Band D household. This hike reflects the Council’s expanded community involvement, including:

  • Organising Christmas Lights, Parades, and May Day celebrations.
  • Place Planning initiatives.
  • Maintaining and installing Summer Baskets.

Such events are crucial to community spirit, enhancing life quality for residents and visitors.

To support these initiatives, manage rising costs, and maintain public spaces, the Precept increase is deemed necessary. The Town Council is also pursuing grants to mitigate the financial impact.

Mayor Heather Weddell emphasises the importance of these community events and assets for town well-being, stating that additional funds will ensure continued success and high service standards. The Town Council is committed to transparency and effective resource management.
