SECRETARY TO THE TRUSTEES
The Cowbridge Institute Educational Trust is looking for a new secretary to the Trustees.
The Charity awards grants that promote the education, including social and physical
training, of persons under the age of 25 who reside in the community of Cowbridge with
Llanblethian.
The position is largely administrative, and requires the holder to undertake duties such as
compiling agendas and production of minutes for Trustee meetings, processing of grant
applications, and liaison as necessary with the Charity Commission.
The new secretary will require a good knowledge and use of standard written English, and
be computer literate, with basic skills in Word, Excel and email and online storage
applications. They will also ideally have a good knowledge of, and a strong commitment to,
the local community.
The time commitment varies throughout the year. There are three Trustee meetings, with
approximately 5 hours of preparatory admin, and 5 hours post meeting admin each time,
with approximately 30-40 hours in the autumn to administer the main body of grant
applications. Occasional hours and ad-hoc meetings throughout the remainder of the year
to respond to and administer enquiries and matters arising, as well as liaison with the
Charity Commission, usually totalling an additional 30-40 hours.
There is a modest honorarium of £700 per annum for this role.
