Grant Aid Applications – 2023 – 2024

GRANT AID AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS

Using the power of Section 137, Local Government Act 1972 Cowbridge with Llanblethian Town Council invites community groups to submit applications for grant funding.

The Town Council allocates a specific amount of funds annually, available for local organisations to apply for projects that enhance the well-being of residents within the community.

Please note that Section 137 monies cannot be utilised for individual purposes. For instance, if a scout seeks financial assistance for personal travel abroad on an exchange visit, the Council cannot grant such requests due to statutory limitations. The statute specifies that Section 137 monies must benefit some or all of the community’s inhabitants.

However, if a request is made by the Scout Leader for the entire troop to travel abroad on an exchange visit, the Council may consider providing a grant for the entire group, as this would then contribute to benefiting some of the community’s inhabitants.

The Town Council’s grants are available to both established voluntary or community groups and new or informal community groups. Additionally, groups intending to become formally constituted by the application date are also eligible to apply.
