Road Closure – 06/07/2025

Approved road closure to be situated along East Gate/High Street/West Gate, Cowbridge & partially closed in Druids Green/Church Street, Cowbridge. Traffic management to be conducted by Conemasters for the safety of members of the public and all participants taking part in the Civic Service & Parade which will be carried out under Town & Police Clauses Act

–              Location of closure ; East Gate/High Street/West Gate, Cowbridge

* Please note that this is from Druids green to Llantwit Major Road junction with Westgate (A4222) on this occasion. Previous Civic Parades have been from Druids Green to The Butts.*

• The parade will form outside the Town Hall and proceed west along the high Street turning right into The Broad Shoard then left into The Broad Shoard arriving at the United Free Church in the Broad Shoard for a service starting at 10.30hrs. Following completion of the service at approx 11.15, the parade will then assemble outside the church and proceed back to the Cowbridge Town Hall.

Parade from Town Hall to Holy Cross Church 9.45 to 10.30

• Traffic entering/exiting Bird Lane, Town Hall Square up until the parade starts at 10.00hrs will be turned east towards Cardiff until the parade turns into The Broad Shoard, once the parade has turned into the Broad Shoard roads will be opened to all traffic. Traffic from The Limes, Croft Street, Druids Green & Croft Terrace will be turned east towards Cardiff.

Parade from Holy Cross Church h to Town Hall (eastbound) 11.00 to 12.00

• Once the parade passes the side roads (The Butts, Eagle Lane & Church Street, traffic from the side roads will be permitted to turn west heading out of Cowbridge, traffic from the Limes, Croft Street & Croft Terrace will continue to and be turned east towards Cardiff until the parade finishes at 12.00hrs, when all roads will be opened to traffic.

Road closure to be situated from where Croft Terrace, Cowbridge meets the junction of East Gate, Cowbridge. From this point the closure will continue along East Gate, Cowbridge in a westward direction and lead onto High Street, Cowbridge & West Gate, Cowbridge and end where West Gate, Cowbridge meets the junction of Llantwit Major Road, Cowbridge.

Closure to also be in place in the following side streets;

• Outward bound of Druids Green, Cowbridge from the junction spanning approx. 70m
• From where the junction of Church Street, Cowbridge meets High Street, Cowbridge from this point the closure will continue along Church Street in a south-westerly direction and end outside of Rose Cottage & Brew House on Church Street, Cowbridge, closure to span approx. 145m
